Extraordinary Disney – Customer Service
Disney is known for and prides itself in its level of customer service. I’ve personally experienced Disney’s customer service many, many times but something happened this week that out surpasses them all. After getting back from our most recent trip to Walt Disney World in July, we couldn’t find two of our cameras. Well technically it was one digital camera and one micro-video camera. We honestly thought we had simply lost track of them when we got home and unpacked.
This past Tuesday, my husband answered the telephone and it was a cast member from Walt Disney World asking if we had recently lost a camera. A little surprised, my husband said as a matter of fact we can’t find two of our cameras. The woman asked him to describe the cameras which my husband did and the cast member said, yes these must be yours!
Apparently, we had left both cameras in our room when we checked out of Port Orleans French Quarter. I’m guessing that the housekeeper found the cameras and turned them into lost and found. Since it had not even crossed our minds that we might have left the cameras at the resort, we never called Disney to inquire about them. It seems that at some point when the cameras were not claimed, someone at Disney did the research and learned that we had been staying in that room when the cameras were found. So, she looked up our contact information from the reservation and called us.
Once we were able to confirm that the cameras were ours, the cast member said she would send the two cameras to us via Fedex. My husband offered to pay for the shipping but the woman at Disney said no, “that Disney would take care of that”. Can you believe it? We leave our cameras, Disney’s housekeeping finds it, their customer service department tracks us down and then they pay for the FedEx shipping to return the cameras to us. If that isn’t extraordinary customer service, I don’t know what is. Bravo Disney for another job well done!
