A Disney Dozen Activities to Do Outside the Parks at Walt Disney World
Spending time in the Walt Disney World theme parks is probably your primary reason to visit Walt Disney World, but there is a “world”, pun intended, of great activities to do outside of the theme parks as well. Here is a list of our favorites:
- Take a boat out for a spin around the lakes.
- Play a round of golf. Disney has four championship courses to choose from.
- Play a round of mini-golf at one of the three mini-golf courses.
- Treat yourself to a spa treatment at one of Disney’s world-class spas.
- Try your hand behind the wheel of a real stock car at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
- Let your kids play at one of the on-site resort kids’ clubs while you enjoy an evening out.
- Enjoy shows, games, and food one evening on Disney’s Boardwalk.
- Take a Segway tour at the Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground.
- Spend an afternoon or evening enjoying your resort’s pool.
- Play tennis. (hard courts: Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk, and Old Key West, clay courts: Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs)
- Take a carriage ride at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside.
- Go horseback riding at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch.
- Go shopping at Downtown Disney.
As you can see, there is so much to do in addition to all of the fun in the theme parks in Walt Disney World that you might just have to add a few more days onto your trip to try to enjoy some of it!
