A Disney Dozen of the Best Places to Get Wet at Walt Disney World
Just about every day of the year, you will find guests getting wet one way or another at Walt Disney World in Central Florida. Here’s our list of the best places to get wet and sometimes soaked!
• Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)
• Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)
• Humanga Kowabunga (Typhoon Lagoon)
• Summit Plummet (Blizzard Beach)
• Dive Quest (Living Seas pavilion Epcot)
• Stormalong Bay (Yacht & Beach Club Resorts)
• Old Port Royale pool ([tag-tec]Caribbean Beach Resort[tag-tec])
• Interactive water play areas and misting stations throughout the parks
• Donald’s Boat (Magic Kingdom)
• Pirates of the Caribbean – Battle for Buccaneer Gold (Disney Quest)
• Renting a Sea Racer at any of the resort marinas
• A hot tub at night at your favorite resort
• Pirates of the Caribbean (Magic Kingdom)
There are a few things to think about in regards to water fun. Bring a poncho with you if you don’t want to get to wet or want to protect expensive camera equipment. Oh, and beware of white t-shirts and white shorts. We’ve witnessed quite a few people rushing to the restroom to try to dry off their now more translucent white clothing after a good soaking on Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain!
For those of you worried about getting too wet during the cooler months, Disney’s thought of that too. It seems that the interactive water play areas and the misting stations are cranked up during the warmer and are either toned down or shut off during the cooler months. Speaking about seasons, especially during the summer time, you are likely to get wet every afternoon just by walking around when the almost-like-clock-work central Florida Thunderstorms roll in, so be prepared to get wet!
