A Disney Half-Dozen Unique Autograph Ideas
One of the hightlights of a trip to Walt Disney World, is getting autographs from beloved characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Cinderella, Aladin, etc. Over the years, I’ve seen and heard several unique and creative ways to acquire autographs while at Walt Disney World.
Below is a list of ways that are unique and creative yet both fun and easy to put together:
- Have the various characters throughout your visit sign their names onto a new and pre-washed pillow case using permanent laundry markers. I’ve even seen this taken a step further by having the pillow case already done up with the child’s name in the center and “My 1st Trip to WDW” or something along those lines.
- Purchase a small photo album that has a blank page facing where a photo would be inserted. Have the character sign on the blank space. Once you develop your photos or have them printed, insert the photos into the appropriate pages.
- Buy postcards of your child’s favorite characters and then have the characters sign the back of each post card. An autographed picture to keep forever!
- Purchase matting for a frame that can be signed by each character. You’ll need to find one with a thick border to give the characters room to sign. Once you are home, create a collage of all of the pictures you took of the characters signing the matting. The matting may be a bit tricky to find but is certainly doable.
- Have the characters sign a pre-washed t-shirt that you lay over a book or piece of cardboard etc. The characters will need something flat and stable to lay the t-shirt on when signing. Do not let you child wear the shirt when getting autographs.
- Take an ordinary autograph book or journal and have your child draw their favorite Disney character on the left page of each two sided page. Then when you see a particular Disney character, have that character sign their name on the page facing their picture. From personal experience, the characters get a real kick out of seeing pictures of themselves drawn by a child.
- Purchase an upcoming year’s calendar featuring your child’s favorite characters. Have each character autograph their particular page in the calendar.
So the next time you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, or any theme park where you will be getting character autographs, keep these creative alternatives in mind to truly create memories that last a life time.
